Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired a cabinet session yesterday at Al-Salam palace in Jeddah.
At the outset of the session, the Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Cabinet on the outcome of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques audience held for King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoriafi, Minister of Culture and Information, explained in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the meeting that the Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on the developments of issues regionally and internationally, as well as the international efforts regarding a number of issues at the international arena and terror combating, noting, in this regard, the convening of the 2nd meeting of the International Coalition for Fighting Daesh held at Andrews airbase, in the vicinity of the U.S. capital of Washington, whereas Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier, and Minister of Defense, led the Saudi delegation to the meeting. The meeting took notice of the issues discussed during the meeting, including the strategic objectives for the forthcoming period and ways of confronting the spread of Daesh outside Iraq and Syria.
The Cabinet welcomed the statement issued by the 25th session of the joint ministerial council between the Gulf Cooperation Council and the European Union in Brussels, underscoring the importance of continuing enhancing relations between them amid the regional challenges to develop into firm and effective bases for regional and international stability and security as well as the strategic importance of close coordination between the two sides.
The minister said the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's strong denunciation and condemnation of the terror explosion that ripped the Afghani capital of Kabul, and the terror armed attack which took place in the German city of Munich, leaving tens of innocents killed or injured, expressing the condolence and sympathy of the Kingdom to each of the Republic of Afghanistan and Federal Republic of Germany on the terror victims, wishing the injured quick recovery and calling for concerted international efforts to fight this dangerous plague which is categorically rejected by all divine religions and international norms.
The cabinet was briefed on King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works' report on the humanitarian assistance offered to Yemeni injured, their companions and relatives inside and outside the Kingdom, noting that the report has really reflected Kingdom's pioneering relief and humanitarian status in general and for Yemen and its people in particular as per the instructions of the Islamic divine religion which orders for relieving the needy as well as those of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his Crown Prince and Deputy Crown Prince since the launch of the center, guidelines which urge with the utmost impartiality and professionalism for giving Yemen and its people the greatest attention, work for alleviating their sufferings and support its citizens, regardless of their social segments or regions or provinces, resulting in the top class rank the Kingdom has, thanks to God Almighty, occupied in the field of relief and humanitarian assistance for Yemen since 2015 and proving that the Kingdom is a safe, and good doer country.
Dr. Adel bin Zaid Altoriafi said the Cabinet was briefed on the issues on its agenda, some of which were reviewed in advance by the Shura council. Following are the conclusions of the Cabinet on those issues:
First: the cabinet approved an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Tunisia on cooperation in the field of defense, which was signed in Riyadh on 11/3/1437 H.
A royal decree on the issue is being drafted.
Second: the cabinet approved a cooperation arrangement between the General Sports Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Sports of the Federal Republic of Brazil in the field of sports, which was signed in the city of Brasilia on 25/6/1436 H.

Third: the cabinet approved the organizational arrangements of the Center for Achievement and Rapid Intervention.
Fourth: the cabinet approved a number of arrangements described in detail in Resolution No. 2770 dated 03/06/1436H regarding the rearrangement of services supervised by the Ministry of Finance.
Fifth: the cabinet approved the accession of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the membership of The Hague Conference on Private International Law.
Sixth: the cabinet approved the controls on the participation of government bodies in foreign exhibitions.
Seventh: the cabinet approved the organization of the Council of Family Affairs.
Eighth: the cabinet approved a number of appointments as follows:
1- Ibrahim bin Swayed bin Mohammed Al-Swayed appointed to the post of Undersecretary of the Ministry for Planning and Development (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Interior.
2- Ali bin Muqbel bin Abdullah Al-Usaimi appointed to the post of Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Interior.
3- Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Hamdan Al-Batel appointed to the post of Deputy President of General Authority for Statistics (Rank 15) at the General Authority for Statistics.
4- Dr. Abdulhamid bin Nasser bin Saleh Al-Omari appointed to the post of Administrative Advisor (Rank 15) at the Commission of Experts at the Council of Ministers.
5- Hussein bin Mohammed bin Abdelfattah Al-Asiri appointed to the post of Ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
6- Saad bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Hammad appointed to the post of Director General of Minister's Office (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Health.
7- Abdullah bin Saleh bin Ali Al-Fawwaz appointed to the post of Director General of the Asir Region Branch (Rank 14) at the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
8- Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Saad Al-Muqrin appointed to the post of Drafting Advisor (Rank 14) at the Commission of Experts at the Council of Ministers.
9- Abdaziz bin Mohammed bin Omar Al-Wasil, Waleed bin Abdullah bin Yuldash Muqeem and Lotfi bin Jameel bin Saleh Allaf appointed to the post of Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
