The Makkah Route initiative continues to serve pilgrims from the Kingdom of Malaysia by facilitating their travel procedures to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the rituals of Hajj of this year 1444 A.H.
The Makkah Route initiative entails carrying out all travel procedures needed by the pilgrims in their homeland, including issuing visas electronically, ensuring that pilgrims have a clean bill of health, completing passport procedures at the airport in the country of departure, and coding and sorting the luggage according to the transportation and housing arrangements in the kingdom. Upon arrival, the pilgrims are transferred to their places of residence in Makkah and Madinah through designated bus tracks, and their luggage is delivered at their places of residence.
The Makkah Route initiative is one of the Ministry of Interior's initiatives within the Pilgrim Experience Program, which is also one of the Saudi Vision 2030 projects, implemented for the fifth year, in 7 countries: Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh and, for the first time, in Turkiye and Côte d'Ivoire.
The ministry of interior is implementing the initiative in cooperation with the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, the Pilgrim Experience Program, and the General Directorate of Passport.
