Security Spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said in a statement today that further to the statement issued on Thursday, 28/07/1437H regarding the siege laid on a safe haven used by a terrorist cell in Noman Valley located between Makkah City and Taif Governorate, where members of the cell started firing towards security men upon recognizing their presence and where the situation necessitated security men to respond to the source of fire, which resulted in the killing of two members of the cell and the suicide of two other members of the cell by blowing themselves up using explosive belts;
The security authorities have completed their tasks on site and the results were as follows:
First: The identity verification process showed that the killed members were:
1- Saeed Ayedh Saeed Al Duair Al-Shahrani, 46 years old, whose name was announced on the list of wanted persons on 21/04/1437H for his connection to the bombing of emergency forces mosque in Asir Region on 21/10/1436H as well as the bombing of Al-Mashhad mosque in Dahdha neighborhood in Najran Region on 13/01/1437H, in addition to the incident of killing a retired security man on 06/05/1437H.
2- Mubarak Abdullah Fahad Al-Dosari, 25 years old, whose name was announced on the list of wanted persons mentioned above and was among those escaped from Dhurma rest house on 02/12/1436H.
3- Mohammed Suleiman Al-Saqri Al-Enzi, 46 years old, whose name was announced on the list of wanted persons on 16/08/1436H for his connection to the incident of firing towards worshipers in Al-Mustafa mosque at Al-Dalwah village in Ahsa Governorate on 10/01/1436H as well as the bombing of Al-Anoud in Dammam on 11/08/1436H, in addition to the bombing of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) mosque in Qudayh town, Qatif Governorate, on 04/08/1436H, and was among those escaped from Dhurma rest house and considered an expert in explosives.
4- Adel Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Mjmaj, 27 years old, who was previously arrested on 11/11/1433H for his connection to a rally that took place in Qassim Region demanding the release of detainees, and he had a connection to Yasser Ali Al-Hudi who was killed in Bisha security confrontation on 22/07/1437H; he was also a fugitive and disguised in women costume wearing an explosive belt.
Second: The inspection of the cell's safe haven revealed the existence of following:
- 2 explosive belts ready to be used.
- 15 explosive devices with triggers and cables.
- 4 Kalashnikov machine guns.
- 2 pistols.
- Large quantity of ammunition and magazines.
- 2 bags containing aluminum powder and metal parts that are used to charge improvised explosive devices.
The Ministry of Interior issues this statement to emphasize its determination to continue pursuing elements of crime and corruption; address and foil their plans; protect the security of this country; and preserve its stability.
The Ministry of Interior praises the important role played by the people of this country and the expatriates in supporting and cooperating with security authorities against this criminal group and its terrorist activities.
