In implementation of the directives of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, the National Information Center, Ministry of Interior, is planning to launch a new version of "Absher App" for smart devices running Android system.
The move comes to enable users of these devices to benefit from the services provided by Absher system easily and safely.
Director of National Information Center, Dr. Tariq bin Abdullah Al- Sheddi, said that the work is underway to finalize the application, which will be launched by the middle of this current month, adding, it will a distinctive and important addition to the Absher electronic system.
He said that the app's first version contains 29 informative and interactive services, some of them are available to the public users and others for registered users.
Dr. Al-Sheddi noted that an update, 1.2, for the Absher App for smart devices running iOS system, "iPhones, iPads", was launched successfully on Tuesday 30/4/1437 AH. He explained that a number of new services have been added within the update, including the delivery of documents through the Saudi Post, and that the application includes an advanced information panel, allowing the user to take a comprehensive look at his information and customize the view according to his favourites, besides a new service that allows citizens and residents receive the most important alerts and official guidelines issued by the ministry of interior.
Dr. Al-Sheddi affirmed that the main objective of developing the Absher App for smart devices is to raise the level of service, besides harnessing the smart devices' potentials to provide new value-added services, as the smart applications are the future platform for implementation of e-services, concluding his statement that the number of Absher system registered users has exceeded six million.
