The Ministry of Interior (MOI) has intensified the use of virtual reality and simulation techniques in its pavilions and its security sectors at the Janadriyah national festival of heritage and culture.
The applications provided by the ministry in its various sectors’ wings varied depending on the security sector's functions and responsibilities. Whereas the General Directorate of Narcotics Control was keen to use the apps in raising awareness about the risks of drug abuse, the traffic department used them to educate the visitors about the role of the safety belt during traffic accidents and the importance of its use.
For its part, the National Center for Security Operations took the visitors on a tour within the Makkah region-based unified center. And whereas the border guard sector had entertained its visitors by giving them an opportunity to test their skills in safe shooting – using different types of weapons – the hologram technology in the civil affairs’ pavilion attracted the attention of the wing visitors.
The MOI and its sectors’ pavilions have included many presentations to introduce the visitors to technology apps being implemented in all security tasks.
The visitors expressed their great admiration for the technological development in the security services in all fields and the good impact of such development on their security and stability.
