The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
At the outset of the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on the phone call received from Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and outcomes of his meetings with French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly and British Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond.
Minister of State, Cabinet's Member, Acting Minister of Media Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Said said in a statement to Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet commended the agreement on the protection of classified and protected information between the Kingdom and France signed by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense and French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parly.
The Cabinet was briefed by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, on the outcomes of his visits to the Republics of Mauritius, Union of the Comoros, Seychelles and the Maldives, during which they discussed distinguished relations between the Kingdom and the four countries, ways to enhance joint cooperation and latest developments at the international arena.
The Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on latest developments at Arab, regional and international arenas, welcoming the convening of "International Conference of Muslim Scholars on Peace and Stability in the Republic of Afghanistan" to be hosted by the Kingdom in Jeddah and Makkah today and tomorrow in the presence of senior scholars in Afghanistan and an elite of Muslim scholars from around the world to assist in efforts for achieving peace and stability in Afghanistan and condemning terrorism and extremism, emanating from the teachings of the tolerant Islamic religion.
The Minister further said that the Cabinet affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's topping the donor countries for the United Nations Humanitarian Response Plan for the Republic of Yemen in 2018, according to the report issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), reflects the Kingdom's keenness and support for humanitarian and relief works to alleviate the suffering of people of Yemen and stand with them until the end of their ongoing humanitarian crisis.
The Cabinet expressed its deep condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attacks on a patrol of the Tunisian National Guard and the Ministry of the Interior of Somalia and offered condolences to the families of the victims and to the Governments and peoples of the Republics of Tunisia and Somalia and extended its condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims, Governments and peoples of the Republics of Tunisia and Somalia, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, and reiterating the Kingdom's solidarity with both countries against terrorism and extremism in all their various forms and manifestations.
The Cabinet also expressed the Kingdom's condolences and sympathies to the Turkish Republic, Government and people and to the families of the victims of the crash of a train derailment, as well as to the Government and people of Japan and the families of victims of the floods and landslides that swept many parts of Japan, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
Dr. Issam bin Saad bin Said also stated that the Cabinet was briefed on the topics listed on the agenda of its session and decided the following:
First:
The Cabinet approved the amendment of (Kigali 2016) on The Montreal (Protocol) on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

Second :
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding on political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of the Philippines.

Third :
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between General Sport Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Republic of Iraq in the field of youth and sports.

Fourth:
The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the General Auditing Bureau in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Accounts Chamber of Russian Federation to cooperate in the field of accounting, auditing and professional works.

Fifth:
The cabinet approved an amendment to Article (XI) of the law of commercial data , issued by the Royal Decree No. (m / 15) and dated 14/4/1423, an amendment to paragraph (c) of Article (4) of the Anti-Cover up Law, issued by Decree No. (M / 22) dated 4/5/1425 H, and an amendment of Article (25) of commercial anti- fraud law, issued by the Royal Decree No. (M / 19) dated 23/4/1429, to be in the text detailed in the decision.

The Cabinet approved the Botanical Genetic Resources System for Food and Agriculture.

The Cabinet approved the guidelines for the establishment of public education schools.

Ninth:
The Cabinet approved the amendment of paragraph (C) of Article (26) of the Law of Noncommissioned Officer Service issued by Royal Decree No. (M/9) dated 24/3/1397 H and the amendment of Article (153) of the Officer Service Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/43) dated 28/8/1393 H on the compensation of an officer or a person for the material loss that may inflict each due to work, doing it or being on an official mission, as detailed in the decision.

The Cabinet was briefed on a number of general issues listed on its agenda, including the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta's annual report on a previous fiscal year and issued its directives regarding them.
