In implementation of the directive of Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Minister of interior, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) – represented by the General Directorate of Prisons – has launched the second version of “Furijat” service on the “Absher” platform.
The new version of the “Furijat” service has seen a qualitative improvement. It categorizes the prisoners against whom there are executive detention orders in non-criminal financial offenses according to the priority in eligibility for the payment basing on a number of criteria.
All bills owed to those arrested in connection with financial cases will be included in the new Furijat version, and will be linked with the “Amn” system, with regard to the military personnel against whom there were executive detention orders related to financial cases. The service also seen many technological improvements.
The new version of Furijat service comes as a result of cooperation and partnership between the General Directorate of Prisons and the relevant authorities – such as the justice ministry (the ministry’s agency for enforcement of justice); the ministry of human resources (the ministry’s social security agency), and the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence (the National Information Center), and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (the electronic payment system SADAD).
It is noted that the “Furijat” initiative – which was launched by the ministry of interior in late Ramadan last year – allows people to assist detainees in prison for failing to pay off their debts through the proper channels or for defaulting on payments, via Absher platform with high credibility and privacy.
