The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, chaired the Cabinet session held on Tuesday in Jeddah.
At the outset of the session, the Cabinet was briefed on the content of the message received by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from the president of Uzbekistan.
The Cabinet was also briefed on the content of the phone call His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received from the secretary-general of the United Nations, which discussed the latest developments, particularly the situation in Gaza.
In his statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) following the session, Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef Al-Dossary said that the Cabinet addressed the overall state's work on domestic and international arenas.
The Cabinet also discussed the achievements and targets aimed at continuing comprehensive development in all sectors of the Kingdom, enhancing relations with brotherly and friendly countries, and supporting all efforts that contribute to the welfare of humanity.
The Cabinet commended the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of a resolution on "Measures to Combat Islamophobia" and the appointment of a UN Special Envoy to combat Islamophobia.
In this regard, the Cabinet reaffirmed Saudi Arabia's commitment to international efforts countering extremist ideologies, disrupting their funding, and fostering peace, dialogue, and coexistence for global prosperity.
The Cabinet also welcomed the contents of the international conference organized by the Muslim World League (MWL) in Makkah under the theme "Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought and Sects".
It expressed gratitude to the scholars of the Muslim nation participating in the conference for their appreciation and acknowledgement of the Kingdom's significant efforts in serving Islam and Muslims, caring for the two holy mosques, attending to their visitors, and enhancing Islamic solidarity.
Moreover, the Cabinet underscored the state's continuous support for charitable work in the Kingdom and its emphasis on maximizing its impact on members of society.
It further highlighted the achievements of the Fourth National Campaign for Charitable Work in its early days, noting the widespread engagement that reflected the outstanding examples of solidarity and competition among benefactors in acts of goodness, generosity, and giving.
The Cabinet hailed a significant economic milestone: non-oil activities reaching a 50% share of the country's real GDP in 2023, and said this achievement aligns with the objectives of Vision 2030 to diversify its resources and achieve a thriving economy. The Cabinet added that this success signifies the effective implementation of Saudi Vision 2030's programs and major projects to foster new growth engines beyond oil.
The Cabinet also reviewed the topics listed on its agenda, including topics co-examined by the Shura Council and also checked on the outcomes of work of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs, the Political and Security Affairs Council, Bureau of Experts at the Cabinet, and took the following decisions:
First:
Authorizing the Minister of Culture, or a deputy, to discuss with the Turkish side and sign a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the cultural field between the Saudi Ministry of Culture and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
Second:
Approving a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Justice and the Albanian Ministry of Justice.
Third:
Authorizing the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, or a deputy, to discuss with the Algerian side and sign a draft memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of marine fisheries and aquaculture between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Algerian Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries.
Fourth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of live animal wealth between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the Djiboutian Ministry of Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, Animal and Maritime Resources.
Fifth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the Egyptian Ministry of Finance on the establishment of a high-level financial dialogue.
Sixth:
Approving a headquarters agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to establish a regional office for the IMF in Riyadh.
Seventh:
Approving a memorandum of scientific and educational cooperation between the Saudi Ministry of Education and the Omani Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.
Eighth:
Authorizing the Minister of Tourism, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Tourism Authority, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Korean side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of tourism promotion and marketing between the Saudi Tourism Authority and the Korean Tourism Organization.
Ninth:
Approving an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Sierra Leone in the field of air transport services.
Tenth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) and the Indonesian Halal Product Assurance Organizing Body for cooperation in ensuring the quality of halal products.
Eleventh:
Approving a cooperation agreement between the Saudi Presidency of State Security and the Tunisian General Directorate of National Security in the field of combating terrorism crimes and its financing.
Twelfth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding in the field of technical and vocational training between the Saudi Technical and Vocational Training Corporation and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labor and Economy.
Thirteenth:
Authorizing the General Supervisor of the National Center for Documents and Archives, or a deputy, to discuss and sign with the Maldivian side a draft memorandum of cooperation between the Saudi National Center for Documents and Archives and the National Archives at the Maldivian Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage in the field of documents and archiving.
Fourteenth:
Approving a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi National Center for Documents and Archives and the Royal Jordanian Documentation Center in the field of documents and archiving.
