The general secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers strongly condemned and denounced the terrorist armed robbery and piracy operation carried out by the Houthi militia, on the Emirati-flagged ship cargo ship "Rwabee".
In a statement issued here today, the General Secretariat of the Council condemns this criminal act, which constitutes a war crime and a serious threat to the freedom of maritime navigation and global trade in Bab al-Mandab strait and the southern Red Sea, and a flagrant violation of the principles of international humanitarian law and the United Nations conventions on the seas, foremost of which is the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982, and the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime of 2000, stressing the importance of taking decisive stances towards the hostile practices of this militia and its aggressive behavior to destabilize security and stability in this vital region and threaten the security of the region and the movement of the economy and international trade.
