Prince Khalid Al-Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah region, reiterated the importance that the universities shall have a role in the development and positive impact on the surrounding communities, and that they should contribute to developing the human beings and place.
During his meeting at the governorate’s headquarters in Jeddah today, with President of the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasser, the governor was briefed on the KAUST’s achievements over the past years, in the areas of research, the fostering of the gifted people, in addition to the social programmes offered and provided by the University to society.
On a related matter, Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the region, met at the governorates’ headquarters in Jeddah, with Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasser – who briefed the deputy governor about the KAUST’s objectives and its role that focusses on science and research.
Both the governor and his deputy received a report about the University's achievements, including statistics on social responsibility programmes – that have reached up to more than 20 programmes and initiatives.
