In 1433 A.H., Prince Mohammed bin Naif, Interior Minister, issued a directive changing the name of Civil Defence Aviation to "Security Aviation". In 1434 A.H., the minister issued a decision to establish the General Command of Security Aviation as a separate body. The commander of Security Aviation is Maj. Gen. Pilot Mohammed bin Eid Al-Harbi.

On 26 /10/ 1438 A.H., Royal order has been issue to separate (General Command of Security Aviation) and link it to Presidency of State Security.
