Compliance with the following instructions is required:
- Citizens who reach the legal age must obtain their own National IDs.
- National ID card is renewed every ten (10) years.
- Tampering (forgery) in proven information in the documents by perverting, amendment or addendum is prohibited.
- Document color imaging rivaling the original is prohibited.
- The woman's acquisition of the national ID card does not entail dropping her name from the family book.
- Reporting on the loss of documents should be within fifteen days from the date of loss or damage to obtain a replacement for the loss or damage, and to avoid sanctions.
- Citizens should ensure that they always carry their National ID and produce it to authorities upon demand.
- Marriages must be reported within two months from the date of marriage contract.
- Reporting on divorce and "Al-Mukhala'aa" i.e. divorcing a woman after paying the specified amount agreed upon, shall be after the completion of "Al-Eddah" i.e. the specified period assigned by Islamic Law for the woman after couple death or divorce.
- Reporting on birth and death shall be at the Civil Affairs registrar's office within (30) days from the date of birth or death.
- Saudi Citizens should never carry their National ID card abroad and should never use it as a security for a private debt.
