First aid:
The providence of appropriate medical care to save the injured until the relief team arrives.
Principles of first aid:
The purpose is to raise the chances of survival – God willing, by providing immediate and appropriate care in the field and during the trip to hospital.
There are four principles:
Survey the site to ensure nothing is there that may threaten your safety or the safety of the patient.
1- First examination: Examine the patient to identify lethal injuries as follows:
2- Check to see if the injured were:
A - Conscious: shake his shoulders and talk to him.
B – Respiratory system (nose and mouth) is clear: if not, clean them and open respiration by leaning patient's head back with the chin lifted forward.
C- Breathing: use (hearing, vision and sense) to make sure of that.
-
Look at the chest rise and down.
-
Hear the sound of entry and exit of air in the nose and mouth.
-
Feel the air coming out of the mouth by the back of the hand or cheek.
-
If the patient is not breathing, conduct the ventilation redemptive (kiss of life).
D - Pulse:
-
Feel the pulse of the carotid at the neck
-
Feel Adam's apple, and then move your finger sideway and try to feel the pulse.
If there is no pulse, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation must be carried out

E - Bleeding profusely, press to stop bleeding and raise the injured organ.
3- Calling ambulance.

4- The second examination: Examine the patient for the second time to identify and administer other casualties if no lethal injuries found. The second examination checks the injured from head to toes.
