Evacuation: is the transfer of victims of wars and disasters from troubled sites to safer locations.

Sheltering: is the housing of victims of disasters in safer locations where basic needs for life are available until they could be moved back to homelands.

Volunteering: is a group of free-of-charge humanitarian services provided to victims of disasters.

Restoration: is bringing back the catastrophic location to the situation prior to the occurrence of disaster as soon as possible. This happens through a comprehensive plan arranged with the affected state.

Alarm: is to inform the population via alarm media about the advent or end of dangerous phenomena (natural, industrial or military) that endanger their lives or property; and to instruct and guide them for better implementation of Civil Defense's necessary protection procedures.

Hidings: they are safe shelters arranged and equipped in a special way to protect people at times of disaster.

Disasters: sudden and unexpected incidents that destroy man and property. Such incidents require international assistance because local bodies can never control.

Industrial Safety: the protective procedures aiming at securing industrial institutions and the working staff so that they can continue production.

Civil Protection: the procedures and activities made for the protection and rescue of man and his properties in all circumstances, during wars, upheavals and disasters.

Civil Defense: the measures and activities made to protect citizens, public and private property from fire, disasters and wars; to relief victims, secure transport and communications and continue work of important facilities at disaster time.

Rescue: the action procedures conducted to save victims at emergency.
