The Civil Defense has deployed 3,800 advanced equipment to handle emergencies during Haj season. Among the equipment are rescue boats equipped with scuba gear and lifelines to use in case of floods, mobile telecommunication repair stations, 60 fire trucks, and a range of thermal cameras and remote sensing apparatuses.
Much of the equipment have been purchased from major international defense companies, and includes water tankers and vehicles with tanks capable of absorbing shocks and resisting high temperatures. Each tanker has a 15,000-liter water capacity, and is able to hold an additional 400 liters of foam to fight fires in open spaces, shopping centers and tents.
The Civil Defense has also deployed ventilation equipment that uses hydraulic fans to remove smoke in case of fire. A number of hydraulic winches have also been deployed to move vehicles and buses.
The Civil Defense has also deployed additional motorcycles equipped with firefighting tools and first aid kits to deal with incidents in areas inaccessible to large trucks.
