Crime Prevention research centre is under the direct supervision of His Royal Highness the Minister of the Interior, where he presides over the high level Committee for the Crime Prevention research centre, which was formed by His Royal Decree No. (5324) dated 14/08/2013

Committee Tasks:
1. Defining the strategic vision in the field of prevention and combating crime at the level of the Kingdom.
2. guiding studies and identify the trends and research areas of the various security studies centers in order to serve the supreme strategy to combat crime and conform to the strategic vision.
3. Approve of the annual budget proposed by the Center to finance research and crime studies and establish a regulation governing the mechanism of disbursement.
4. Approval of the procedures for the implementation of research and studies and the organization of the connection of the Center with researchers cooperating with the center and determine their rewards.
5. Review the Center's annual report and make observations on its achievements.
Objectives of the High Level Committee:
1. Consolidate the efforts of the security agencies and their integration and the participation of all sectors concerned with combating crime in the formulation of policies and programs of prevention and control and prioritization of studies.
2. To guide the studies prepared by the Center to serve the fight against crime and its prevention.
3. Ensure the accuracy of statistical reports and information about the crime.
4. Support security decision-making beyond description and monitoring to prediction, treatment and control.
5. Support the Center to keep pace with the needs of the relevant sectors and bodies of studies, research and field reports.
