The actual step to establish the Interpol was when the first Conference of the Judicial Police was held during the period 14-18 April 1914 in Monaco. The Interpol was formally established in 1923 with headquarters in Vienna; then a Basic Law was enacted for the Interpol.
After the end of war in 1946, a conference was held in Brussels. The Interpol's international co-operation was forthcoming, and a new system was adopted. The headquarters was moved from Vienna to Paris, and the word (Interpol) was adopted for the first time.
In 1956, the Basic Law has been renewed to make it more suitable for co-operation on an international scale. The International Criminal Police Commission was renamed the "International Criminal Police Organisation – Interpol", currently based in the city of Lyon – France.
