Background
- In order to preserve the political stability and internal security of the country, a royal decree was issued on 29/9/1354H, approving a proposal to establish a police school in Makkah region with a main objective to qualify and train policemen on scientific and military basis.
- On 29/09/1354H, a royal decree was issued approving the establishment of the police school in Makkah.
- The syllabus included subjects like composition, reading, algebra, geometry, administrative rules, criminal photography etc and military training and physical education.
- Between 1370 and 1381H, the minimum admission requirement grew from successful completion of elementary school to intermediate school certificate; and the term of study from one year to three years.
- In 1385H, the name was changed to Police College.
- In 1385H, the College was shifted to Riyadh.
- On 25/01/1386H, a ministerial decree had been issued separating the Police from the Directorate of General Security and attached it to the ministry of interior as an independent body with a full status college board.
- On 21/03/1386H, the cabinet issued a decree changing the name to the Internal Security Forces College.
- On 15/04/1386H, the minimum requirement for admission was increased to the general secondary school certificate.
- In 1391H, the term of study became 3 years, the students graduated with the Bachelor's Degree in internal security forces sciences and with a rank of a lieutenant.
- In 1394H, the College had adopted the most advanced methods of education and implemented the semester courses.
- In 1403H, a royal decree was issued changing the name to the "King Fahad Security College"; and the degree to the "Bachelor in Security Sciences."
- In 1405H, the custodian of the two holy Mosques laid the foundation stone for the new premises of the general directorate of King Fahd Security College. The College has been moved to the new location in 1409H.
- In 1422H, the minimum admission requirement was limited to university graduates only.
