The Cabinet reviewed via the virtual network the royal orders and directives issued to limit the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) as well as the decisions and precautionary measures taken by the state agencies to implement the royal orders and directives.
The Cabinet praised the royal directives issued immediately following the declaration of Coronavirus pandemic, instructing all state sectors, particularly the Ministry of Health and other government sectors, to take precautionary and preventive measures. The Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom's ability to deal with this pandemic and limit its effects on the society and the national economy.
The Cabinet commended the measures taken by the State to ensure work continuity in Government sector in order to provide all services to citizens and expatriates, and to ensure supporting private sector and stimulating economic activities in order to maintain financial sustainability as well as the stability of financial and economic sector. The Cabinet also praised the measures taken to ensure an abundance of food and medicine supplies.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Acting Minister of Media Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi stated that the Cabinet praised the Royal Order providing health care in all government and private health facilities to all citizens, residents and violators of the residency regulation who are infected with Coronavirus.
In this regard, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques thanked state agencies, private sector, medical teams, security men and volunteers for their sacrifices and efforts, appreciating the citizens and expatriates for their commitment to the instructions.
The Cabinet also reviewed a number of reports on the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Acting Minister of Media stated that the Cabinet praised the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques addressed to the citizens and residents in which he appreciated their cooperation with the concerned agencies during this difficult stage, and stressed the State's continuous efforts to take all precautions and preventive measures to confront the pandemic.
The Cabinet also commended the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques at the G20 Extraordinary Virtual Summit, which was held under his chairmanship and at the invitation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss ways to move forward in coordinating global efforts to combat the Corona pandemic. In his speech, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques stressed that this human crisis requires a global response and that the world counts on G20 leaders to come together and cooperate in order to face this challenge. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques also said that the Saudi G20 Presidency took the lead and worked with partners and relevant organizations to take all necessary actions in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 and safeguard people's health. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques valued the effective measures adopted by different countries in this regard, reaffirming full support for the World Health Organization in coordinating the efforts to counter this pandemic.
The Cabinet reviewed the statement issued by the Extraordinary G20 Leaders' Summit in which the G20 committed to do whatever it takes to overcome the pandemic.
The Cabinet reaffirmed the Kingdom's condemnation and denunciation of launching two ballistic missiles by Houthi militia towards the civilians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as this attack reflects the true threat posed by this terrorist militia and the Iranian regime supporting it at a time when the whole world is united together to fight the Corona pandemic.
The Cabinet reviewed the topics on its agenda, and took the following decisions:
First: The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Energy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission, -or his deputy- to discuss with the Spanish side a draft memorandum of understanding to exchange information in the field of nuclear safety and radiation protection between the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Nuclear Safety Council of the Kingdom of Spain.
Second: The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Interior -or his deputy- to discuss with the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) a draft agreement establishing a regional office of INTERPOL for the Middle East and North Africa in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL).
Third: The Cabinet approved a GCC Unified Military Command headquarters agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Fourth: The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Commerce, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Competitiveness Center -or his deputy- to sign a draft memorandum of cooperation on the financial contribution to the UNCITRAL Trust Fund between the National Competitiveness Center of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations.
Fifth: The Cabinet approved a memorandum of cooperation in the field of financial services between the Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Dubai Financial Services Authority of the United Arab Emirates.
Sixth: The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Customs, -or his deputy- to sign a draft agreement on customs cooperation between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Seventh: The Cabinet authorized the Attorney General -or his deputy- to discuss with the Moroccan side a draft memorandum of cooperation in the field of investigation and public prosecution between the Saudi Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Presidency of the Public Prosecution of the Kingdom of Morocco.
Eighth: The Cabinet approved an amendment to the regulation of Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research.
Ninth: The Cabinet formed the Supreme Committee for Energy Mix Affairs for Electricity Production and Enabling Renewable Energy Sector under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and President of the Council of Economic and Development Affairs.
Tenth: The Cabinet decided that the Ministry of Tourism shall be responsible for monitoring violations at tourist accommodation facilities.
Eleventh: The Cabinet appointed Dr. Dima bint Saleh Al-Athel, representative of the private sector institutions; and Dima bint Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, representative of civil society institutions, as members of the National Committee for Rationing IT Ethical Content.
Twelfth: The Cabinet approved a number of arrangements regarding listing the assets, sectors and services, immediately after being privatized, in the Saudi Financial Market.
Thirteenth: The Cabinet approved a number of promotions as follows:
1- Abdulrahman bin Abdullah bin Abdulrahman Al-Suhaibani promoted to the post of Undersecretary of the Ministry for Sports Affairs (Rank 15) at the Ministry of Sport.
2- Saeed bin Saad bin Mohammed Al-Qahtani promoted to the post of Financial Advisor (Rank 15) at the General Auditing Bureau.
3- Eng. Abdulrazzaq bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Olayani promoted to the post of Architectural Consultant Engineer (Rank 14) at Asir Region Municipality.
4- Muhareb bin Mansour bin Nasser Al-Mutairi promoted to the post of Director General of Administrative and Financial Affairs (Rank 14) at Eastern Region Municipality.
5- Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Bukairy promoted to the post of President of Al-Kharj Municipality (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
6- Majed bin Abdulaziz bin Suleiman Al-Husain promoted to the post of Technical Expert (Rank 14) at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
7- Walid bin Khalid bin Ahmed Nahas promoted to the post of Administrative Advisor (Rank 14) at the Bureau of Experts at the Council of Ministers.
