Today, the "Makkah Route" initiative at Istanbul airport successfully completed the procedures for 300 pilgrims from the Republic of Turkiye, who are now departing to Prince Mohammad bin Abdulaziz airport in Madinah.
The "Makkah Road" initiative, which is part of the ministry of interior's programs to assist pilgrims and is aligned with the Saudi Vision 2030, aims to streamline the arrival and procedural requirements for pilgrims from their respective countries. The process commences with the issuance of electronic visas and the collection of vital information, followed by efficient passport procedures at the departure airport in their home country. These steps are carried out after ensuring compliance with health requirements, along with coding and categorizing luggage based on transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Upon arrival, pilgrims are directly escorted to buses that will transport them to their designated residences, while service agencies take care of delivering their luggage to their respective accommodations.
