The Security spokesman of the Ministry of Interior said that over the past few weeks, the competent security authorities managed to arrest a network of cluster cells linked to the terrorist ISIS organization as part of a scheme managed from troubled areas abroad and aimed at inciting sectarian strife and chaos.
The number of arrested to date was 431 (four hundred and one thirty) detainees, most of them citizens, as well as participants holding other nationalities including Yemeni, Egyptian, Syrian, Jordanian, Algerian, Nigerian, Chadian, and unidentified others.
What combines these cells (which were subjected to security restrictions by not making direct contacts among themselves) is the belonging to the terrorist ISIS organization in terms of the adoption of thought, takfir of society and bloodshed, and then exchanging roles to implement the plans and objectives dictated from abroad. This organization carried out a number of criminal operations included the following:
1. The incident of targeting worshipers in the village of Aldaloh in al-Ahsa province on 01/10/1436 AH.
2- The incident of shooting on public security patrol east Riyadh on 06/19/1436 AH and martyrdom of its driver and his partner.
3- The incident of firing on a patrol of installation security while on duty near the strategic storage site south of Riyadh on 19/07/1436 AH and martyrdom of its driver.
4- The incident of targeting worshipers at the mosque of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib in the town of Qudayh on 08/04/1436 AH.
5- The incident failed targeting of worshipers at the Mosque of Al-Hussein Bin Ali in Anoud neighborhood in Dammam on 11/08/1436 AH.
The security forces managed to expose who were behind these incidents, according to the following:
1- The targeting of worshipers in the village of Aldaloh in Ahsa accident: 97 people were arrested for their links to members of the cell behind the declared incident who were announced in the statement issued on 02/02/1436 AH. It turned out that among what they were planned were operations within the Kingdom, including the so-called operations of 'solo wolf' aimed at inciting sectarian strife, security men and expatriates, according to orders received from the deviant organization abroad, and provision for the activities of the cell of weapons and chemical fertilizers to be used in making explosives, and technical services. They also were associated with incident of targeting the security patrol east of the city of Riyadh (and the martyrdom of soldiers Thamer Omran al-Mutairi and AbdulMohsen Khalaf Al Mutairi) by the provision of shelter and means of communication used by the perpetrators in the implementation phases of their heinous crime who are the detainees (Yazeed bin Mohammed Abu Nian and Nawaf Sharif Anzi) who were announced on 5 / 7/1436 H.
2- The two incidents which targeted worshipers at the mosque of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib in the town of Qudayh, and the Mosque of Al-Hussein Bin Ali in the district of Anoud in Dammam: the investigation showed roles for other people linked to these crimes and the activities of the detainees therein. preliminary inquiries showed that they belong to the ISIS terrorist organization and their deviant activities are based on this fact. After verification of their status and their links, the security authorities arrested them. Their number of people arrested was 190. They had formed four cells in coordination with the organizations' leaders abroad through the arrested Hadi Kotaim Shaibani. Each one was given a role. Two of them shared the functions of the field monitoring of targeted sites whether mosques, government installations or security men. This task was given to the detainees Majid Mustafa Alnafe, Maan Mohammed Alshabanat, Abdul Ilah Al Mousa, Abdel Salam Saad Mia'jib Boras, Mohamed Mansour Manna, Omar Abdul Aziz Al-Dakhil, Abdullah Abdulrahman Alhiaf, Khalid Abdul Karim Al-Hussein, Sultan Abdullah Al-Hussein and Mohammed Abdulaziz Mohammed Alqasir.
The third cell assumed the task of suicide bombers' processing and preparation, including the detainees Ibrahim Abdulaziz Alhusain, Yazeed Zaid Alquood, Yazeed Mansour Al-Qahtani, Yazeed Salih Almineea', the suicide bomber, Saleh Bin Abdulrahman Saleh Alkashemi, the suicide bomber Khalid Ayed al-Shammari and Ahmed Faye Ahmed Al Tale Al-Asiri. This cell also assumed the task of transporting the suicide bomber, Salih Alkashemi, on Friday morning 4/8/1436 H. to Qatif, and taking him after helping him in wearing the explosive belt to the targeted mosque and going away after dropping him there, and returning after the crime to the place of its occurrence as the rest of the crowd and photographing it, as well as transporting the suicide bomber Khaled al-Shammari to Dammam and dropping him in the parking lots to carry out his operation.
The fourth cell's task was to manufacture explosive belts and its elements are detainees Hadi Kotaim al-Shaibani, Majid Mustafa Alnafe, Omar Abdulaziz Aldakheel, Maan Mohammed Abdullah Al-Shabanat and Abdul Rahman Ibrahim Al-Saheem.
Horrific terrorist operations were thwarted. They were planned by the deviant organization to occur during the days of the holy month of Ramadan including some on Friday, the ninth of the month of Ramadan, to coincide with the terrorist operations of the organization that were carried out in other countries. The thwarted operations included:
1. A suicide attack using explosive belts targeting the mosque of the special emergency forces in Riyadh, which accommodates 3000 people on Friday, 09/09/1436 H.
2. Suicide attacks aimed at a number of mosques in the Eastern Region consecutively on every Friday to coincide with the assassination of security men working on roads.
3. Planning and conducting field surveys of the headquarters of a diplomatic mission to target it and working to identify the housing headquarters of a number of security men in a plot to assassinate them.
4. Operations targeting security and government installations in the province of Sharourah, and setting up a camp for this purpose within the desert of Sharourah to receive various military exercises there, and communication and coordination for these operations with the wanted elements in Yemen.
In addition to those directly involved in these criminal operations, the security forces have been able to access to the infrastructure for these cells by arresting the supporting elements, and those that are working to spread the deviant thought via the Internet and the recruitment of elements, and the dissemination of misleading propaganda. Their number is 144 detainees. Through this, the owners of the following user names were dealt with:
- the user name Daashi Waftikher
- the user name Ba't Almonia
- the user name jonoon alistishhad
- the user name Julaybib Jazrawi
- the user name Ghorbah 4
- the user name Taiwilb Ilm
- the user name Hizam Nasif used by the detainee Ali Mohammed Ali Ala'taiq, whose house was found to have a laboratory for the manufacture of explosives and different materials used for that purpose.
The security services was also able to seize a number of documents, equipment, means of communication and explosive materials smuggled from abroad and weapons and ammunition. In these security operations against those cells, 37 people were martyred including security men and civilians. 120 security men and citizens were injured. Six terrorists were killed in these operations.
Security follow-up and investigation are still continuing to expose and arrest all those linked to these criminal activities. Developments will be announced in due course.
