Assistant general director of the National Information Center (NIC) for technical affairs, Dr. Abdullah bin Ghazi Al-Ghamdi, said that the center is considered one of the most government agencies with technology initiatives, besides being one of the largest data centers in the Middle East that spread its services in the cities and provinces of the Kingdom through more than 3,000 sites.

Speaking at the opening of a workshop on the new infrastructure trends in addressing security challenges that was held last Thursday, in collaboration with IBM company, in Riyadh, he said the workshop comes within a series of workshops, which the center has begun to hold within specialized initiatives to transfer IT knowledge and use it in the interior ministry sectors and other government sectors.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi noted that the center has received many international certificates in its field of work, thanks to the long expertise in IT, and adoption of the best international standards in all services provided to beneficiaries, besides the qualified national cadres who specialize in various domains.

For his part, Saudi IBM General Manager, Maher Al-Qasim, has thanked the center for organizing and supervising the workshop, noting that IBM is delighted to have the center as a strategic partner in the Kingdom.

Following that, the activities of the workshop were commenced.
