The Ministry of Interior said that the joint field campaigns to follow up and arrest violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, which took place in all regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 21 to 27 December, 2023, resulted in the following:
First: As many as 18,553 violators were caught during the joint security field campaigns in all regions of the Kingdom: 11,503 violators of the residency law, 4,315 violators of border security law, and 2,735 violators of the labor law.
Second: The total number of people who were caught trying to cross the border into the Kingdom reached 1121, 28% of whom were Yemenis, 70% Ethiopians, and 2% from other nationalities. Moreover, 73 people were arrested for trying to cross the border outside the Kingdom in an irregular manner.
Third: 12 people involved in transporting, sheltering, employing, and covering up violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations were arrested.
Fourth: The total number of people currently subject to the procedures for implementing the regulations reached 52,919 violating expatriates, including 47411 men and 5,508 women.
Fifth: 46,077 violators were referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents; 18,08 violators were referred to complete their travel reservations; and 9,542 violators were deported.
The Ministry of Interior emphasized that anyone who facilitates the entry of violators of the border security law to the Kingdom, transports them within it, provides them with shelter, or provides them with any assistance or service in any way exposes himself to penalties of up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to one million Saudi riyals. In addition, there will be the confiscation of the means of transport and housing used for shelter, together with defamation. The ministry said that this is a major crime that requires arrest and that it violates honor and honesty. The ministry also urges people to report any cases of violation via the numbers (911) in the regions of Makkah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Region, and (999) and (996) in the rest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
