The Ministry of Interior said that the campaigns against individuals who violate residency, labor, and border security regulations, carried out in all regions of the Kingdom from January 4 to 10, 2024, yielded the following results:
Of the total number of 18,538 violators, 11,047 had violated the Residency Law, 4,299 the Border Security Law, and 3,192 the Labor Law.
Of the 851 people caught trying to illegally cross the border into the Kingdom, 40% were Yemenis, 59% Ethiopians, and 1% of other nationalities; 55 were arrested for trying to leave the country illegally.
Six people involved in transporting, sheltering, employing and covering up for violators of the above laws were arrested.
Of the 54,549 expatriates currently subject to the procedures for implementing the regulations, 49,221 are men and 5,328 women.
Other measures include having 47,977 violators referred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents; 1,892 referred to complete their travel reservations, and 9,927 were deported.
The Ministry of Interior warned that any person who facilitates the illegal entry of individual in the Kingdom, transports them on its territory, provides them with shelter or with any assistance or service may be penalized with up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to SAR1 million.
The ministry stressed that such acts are major crimes that are punishable with arrest.
It also urges people to report any cases of violation at 911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, and at 999 and 996 in the rest of the Kingdom.
