Maj. Gen. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, Director General of General Directorate of Passports (GDP), launched a new postal parcel service at the Riyadh Passport Department aiming at delivering the residency permits (Iqama) to beneficiaries directly.
During the launch, the GDP director general was briefed on the new service.
The service will be conducted through the ‘Muqeem” e-portal, in coordination with the Al-Elm Company for Security Information (Elm).
The Riyadh passport department claims that this advancement will develop the e-portal’s list of services, which include the issuance of occupation changes, service transfers and the launching of the postal parcel service.
Maj. Gen. Al-Sehaibani, Director of Riyadh Passport Department, said that the that the portal will allow them to be linked with firms electronically, simplifying the process of issuing and canceling exit-reentry visas, final exit visa and renewal of residency permits for expatriates.
He said that the Muqeem portal has performed over 6 million operations since its implementation, with more than 4.5 million residents currently utilizing its services.
