Achieving objectives of the Directorate General of Prisons (DGP) and following policies of the DGP requires adopting new approaches to improve performance and overcome obstacles. The organisational aspects include the following:
- Reviewing the organisational structures, policies, and regulations and re-evaluate their efficiency
- Merging and restructuring some of the sections and activities
The most important organisational steps up-to-date are:
- Restructuring the Directorate administrations in different regions
- Preparing first drafts of prisons law and its regulations
- Establishing the prisoners council that includes specialised members of the governmental and private sectors to take care of prisoners affairs and watch conditions in prisons
- Forming the national committee of prisoners affairs that take care of prisoners and their families, and the released prisoners
