Duties

Explain objectives of the Directorate General of Prisons (DGP) through researches, seminars, lectures and exhibitions.
Publish a monthly periodical about the Directorate General of Prisons.
Prepare scientific studies of phenomena in prisons and studying methods of developing performance of the Prisons' staff.
Communicate religious and ethical knowledge to prisoners through the well-designed programs.
Teach prisoners how to read, write and encourage them to continue their education.
Help ex-convicts find the right jobs that suit their potentials.
Pay attention to vocational training: prepare training programs and courses in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
Liaise with governmental authorities and non-governmental parties to provide social and psychological care for prisoners.
Handle prisoner's affairs: imprisonment, release and amnesty.
Work on the comprehensive development of the DGP.
Take care of the infrastructure of the DGP and its facilities.
