To apply for a firearm or to renew an expired firearm license, the applicant is required to attend in person at the Weapons and Explosives Office at the police station or the governorate along with the firearm to be examined by specialists, and register his information. He must also provide the required documents and information considering the following notes:
Required documents to obtain a firearm license:
- Original National ID card and a copy of it.
- Five (5) recent color photographs size 3x4 cm.
- A citizen is required to submit a letter from his employer.
- A non-Saudi applicant is required to submit a letter from his employer certified at the police station.
- A file to save documents.
Required documents to renew a firearm license:
- Two (2) recent personal color photographs size 3x4 cm.
- The applicant’s original firearms license and a copy of it.
- The applicant’s National ID card and a copy of it.
Notes:
- The applicant’s minimum age must be 18 years.
- The applicant is provided with the required pledge documents after filling-in the application form at the Police station and inspecting his firearm.
