The General Department of Traffic (GDT) has begun application of a unified document for compulsory vehicle insurance, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance and Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA).
The director of General Department of Traffic Major General Abdurrahman bin Abdullah Al Mugbel said work according to the document had started after linking the insurance companies electronically with the National Information Center.
He praised the great efforts provided by the National Information Center, Ministry of Finance and SAMA, for completing the document materials and making it a reality.
The Traffic director affirmed that the unified document would make a major shift in traffic services, noting at the same time, that the coming period will witness a number of automated traffic services basing on direct IT systems.
