Requirements and Prohibitions
- Import of and trade in antique firearms is allowed only after authorisation by the Minister.
- Antique firearms (Old weapons of historical value proved unusable after examination), may be brought and possessed for acquisition provided that such weapons do not exceed three pieces per year.
- Loss of or damage to arms must be reported to the competent authorities within one month from the time the owner knows the loss or damage.
- Loss of or damage to Weapon License must be reported to the nearest police station within fifteen days from the date of loss or damage for replacement license that must contain all data in the lost license.
- Weapons, spare parts or ammunition possessed through inheritance, will or any other method must be reported to the competent authorities within three months from the date inheritance.
- Carrying weapons within the borders of the two Holy Mosques, other mosques, near military or oil areas, and the places signaled "Keep away" is banned; likewise carrying weapons is banned in government offices, airports, schools and public gatherings, and in places of private and public celebrations.
- Ownership of an institution or company licensed to deal in arms may not be waived but with the approval of the Minister.
- Licensee shall import personal firearms, hunting weapons; accessories, spare parts and ammunition, as well as the licensee to buy and sell weapons should take all safety means for the transport and storage according to regulations.
- Licensee shall import all kinds of weapons and accessories, ammunition and spare parts, as well as the licensee to buy and sell weapons shall keep special organized records according to the forms and procedures prescribed by the rules.
- A person with cancelled license is not permitted to have any new license for any other weapon except in cases determined by the regulations.
- Licensing of more than one personal firearm is not allowed; and the regulations shall specify the type of this weapon; the Minister may in special cases grant licenses to carry more than one weapon.
- The firearms repair profession and practice is banned for all types of firearms but with a license from the Minister.
- Members of official or military delegations or persons responsible for official business are allowed to take their usual formal personal weapons with them in accordance with international practice and the condition of reciprocity as required by circumstances, and the Ministry must be formerly informed.
