A comprehensive traffic campaign carried out by Riyadh Traffic department in all districts of the city, monitored a number of hazardous traffic violations.
During the past month, the traffic police patrols recorded a variety of traffic violations that affect the safety, including 10982 over-speed violations, 10783 running the red signal violations and 10473 violations regarding the entry of trucks to the city at the peak time.
The traffic campaigns monitored during a month in the capital, Riyadh, 12239 cars whose drivers were in violation of the traffic systems. The traffic patrols also seized 1924 distorted cars, besides 12681 other traffic offenses that pose a risk to road users and public safety.
The number of detainees in Nasiriyah over the past month reached 9562 violators; whereas 5061 cars in violation of the traffic rules and regulations were taken into custody .
For his part, the director of Traffic Department in Riyadh region, Brig. Gen. Dr. Mohammed bin Shabab Al-Buqami, said the traffic campaigns are ongoing to follow up all the wrong behaviours, and to educate the drivers to abide by traffic regulations and use the car and the road in a manner that could enhance the traffic culture, which is needed for a secure traffic community.
